Maharaj and Rainbow Cricket Club post wins in West Champaran District Cricket League

Bettiah: Maharaj and Rainbow Cricket Club won their respective matches played on Friday in the West Champaran District Cricket League being organised under the aegis of West Champaran District Cricket Association.

Today a match was played between XI Star Loria and Maharaj on ground number two. XI Star Loria captain Sandeep Pandey won the toss and decided to bat first. Eleven Star did not have a good start today. Both the opening batsmen were out in quick succession. There was a good partnership between Ankur and Shivam Dubey in the middle order. Both made a partnership of 56 runs. Ankur contributed 28 runs, Shivam contributed 31 runs, Vicky Kumar contributed 30 runs and Adarsh Dubey contributed 22 runs. With the collective efforts of all of them, Eleven Star Loria’s team was all out for 139 runs in 36.4 overs. From Maharaj’s side, Kamran took three wickets, Umar took two and Sarfaraz took one wicket.
Maharaja, in reply, also did not have a good start. Both the openers were back early. Kamran, who came to bat in the middle order, contributed 36 runs and remained not out. Raja scored 39 runs. In this way Maharaj’s team won the match by four wickets. For Eleven star Loria Adarsh took two wickets and Sandeep took one wicket.

Today there was a match between Rainbow Cricket Club Bettiah and Modern Cricket Club was played on ground number 1. Rainbow captain won the toss and batted first and scored 188 runs with the help of Azharuddin’s 74 runs. Along with him, Necklace scored 27 runs, Rohit scored 20 runs and Mantu scored 15 runs. For Modern, Rohit Kumar bowled brilliantly and took 4 wickets for 38 runs in 8 overs. Sunny took two wickets, Rakesh took two wickets.

In reply, Modern team made 141 runs. Sunny contributed 58 runs for Modern. Prince scored 19 runs. For Rainbow, Mithilesh took two wickets and Amrez took two wickets.
