Purnia: Thanks to the brilliant batting of Pratyay Prasun (51 runs), brilliant bowling of Priyanshu Shekhar Singh (four wickets for 19 runs) and all-round play of Raj Aryan Yadav (38 runs not out, 3 wickets), Katihar defeated Madhepura by a huge margin of 156 runs in the Randhir Verma Under-19 Inter District Cricket Tournament and recorded their second consecutive win in the Seemanchal Zone of the tournament.

In the match played at the local Green Valley Stadium, Katihar won the toss and batted first and scored 218 runs for nine wickets in the stipulated 50 overs. Pratyay Prasun scored 51 runs in 84 balls with the help of 5 fours. Apart from this, Shivam Singh scored 30 runs, Mohammad Israel scored 43 runs, Raj Aryan Yadav scored 38 not out and Sahil Mallik scored 20 runs. 23 runs were scored with the help of extras.

For Madhepura, Aarav Raj took 3 wickets for 53 runs.

In reply, Madhepura team was all out for 62 runs in 29.1 overs. Rohit Saini scored maximum 21 runs. For Katihar, Priyanshu Shekhar Singh took 4 wickets for 19 runs and Raj Aryan Yadav took 3 wickets for 5 runs.

The umpires of the match were BCA panel umpires Rajiv Kamal Mishra and Manohar Kumar, manual scorer was Shivam Kumar and digital scorer was Avinash Kumar Shukla.

On this occasion, Purnia District Cricket Association Secretary Jayant Kumar, Treasurer Manjeet Raj, Rohit Kumar, Abhishek Thakur, Raman Kumar Mandal, Digvijay Kumar, Katihar umpire Binay Jha, coach Badri Alam were present.
