Kaimur’s Gupil Rai misses double century, match drawn

Patna, May 23:  The match between Kaimur and Gaya in the BCA Senior Men’s Cricket Tournament Super League being played under the aegis of Bihar Cricket Association ended in a draw but Kaimur got 3 points on the basis of lead in the first innings while Gaya got 1 point.

In the first innings of this three-day match which ended on Thursday at the local Moinul Haque Stadium, Kaimur scored 283 runs after losing all wickets. While it declared its second innings at 379 runs for 9 wickets. In the second innings, Gupil Rai played a brilliant innings of 191 runs.

Gaya scored 278 runs after losing all wickets in its first innings while it scored 115 runs for 3 wickets in the second innings.

On the last day of the game, Kaimur started its second innings at 35 runs for 2 wickets. Nishant Singh, who was playing without opening the account, got out after scoring 2 runs. After this Rahul Chaubey also returned to the pavilion after scoring 10 runs. Then Gupil Rai got the support of Satyam Singh Yadav. Gupil Rai and Satyam Singh Yadav made a big partnership of 242 runs and Kaimur declared its second innings after scoring 379 runs in 89.4 overs. Gupil Rai scored 191 runs with the help of 24 fours and 3 sixes in 216 runs. Satyam Singh Yadav played an innings of 73 runs with the help of 9 fours in 162 balls. Anubhav Singh scored 15 runs while Vikas Patel played an unbeaten innings of 38 runs.

For Gaya, Nikku Singh took 2 wickets, Praveen Prakash took 4 wickets and Shivam Kishore took 2 wickets.

Gaya got a target of 385 runs to win. In response, Gaya scored 115 runs for 3 wickets in 19 overs. The match was declared a draw. In the second innings, Mangal Maharour scored 47 runs, Gautam Kumar scored 34 runs and Syed Mohammad Saifullah scored 22 runs for Gaya.

Vikas Patel took 2 wickets while Dhanesh Chauhan took 1 wicket for Kaimur.
