Kaimur outplay Rohtas by 7 wickets

Bhabua, June 10: Kaimur defeated Rohtas by 7 wickets in a match played on Monday under the Shahabad Zone of the BCA Shyamal Sinha Inter-District Under-16 Cricket Tournament organized under the aegis of Bihar Cricket Association and hosted by Kaimur District Cricket Association.

Rohtas won the toss and decided to bat first at the local Jagjivan Stadium. Rohtas scored a respectable score of 172 runs after losing all wickets in 38.1 overs. Vicky Gupta scored 37 runs in 56 balls, Himanshu Kumar and Deepu Kumar scored 34 runs each. Abhishek Kumar scored 27 runs in 37 balls and Krish Virendra scored 22 runs in 12 balls.

Ankit Kumar took 3 wickets for Kaimur, Danish Ansari took 17 runs, Suryansh Tiwari took two wickets each and Shivam Kumar took 1 wicket.

Chasing the target of 172 runs, Kaimur achieved the target by scoring 173 runs in 30.3 overs losing 3 wickets. Bholu Pandey scored 41 runs in 56 balls, Mayank Raj scored 34 runs in 45 balls, Anurag Aagaz scored unbeaten 27 runs in 30 balls, Suryansh Tiwari scored 26 runs in 30 balls and Sankalp Rastogi scored unbeaten 24 runs in 17 balls.

Krish Virendra, Krish Kumar and Shivam Anand took one wicket for Rohtas.

Vijay Hazare player Vikas Patel presented the Player of the Match trophy to Ankit Kumar for his excellent bowling.
