Patna: Indian women’s team maintained their winning streak defeating Malaysia 19-0 in the qualifier round of the BFA Women’s Baseball Asian Cup 2023 in Hong Kong on Wednesday.
With this victory, the Indian team qualified for the Asia Cup. The main round matches will be played from May 26.
The Indian women’s team, playing under the guidance of Madhu Sharma, secretary of the Baseball Association of Bihar, achieved this feat. Earlier, the Indian team had defeated Thailand 9-8.
Reshma Punekar’s brilliant performance was the key to India’s victory. President of Baseball Association of Bihar Diljit Khanna, Vice President Sanjay Kumar, Director General of Bihar Sports Authority Raveendran Sankaran, Director cum Secretary Pankaj Raj and Treasurer of Baseball Association of Bihar Rupak Kumar along with congratulated the players and officials for Indian team’s victory.
