Begusarai: Under the auspices of Begusarai District Badminton Association, Hundred Bihar Sub Junior Under 13 and 15 State Ranking Badminton Tournament began at Shri Krishna Stadium here. The tournament will continue until April 7.
Players from almost all the districts of Bihar have been participating in the tournament. More than 100 players have entered this competition. The tournament is being conducted for boys and girls in the age group of 13 years and 15 years. The tournament was formally inaugurated by Dr. Sanjeev Kumar. On this occasion, General Secretary of Bihar Badminton Association, KN Jaiswal, and Secretary of Samastipur Badminton Association, Naveen Kumar, President of the Organising Committee, Dr Ranjan Kumar Chaudhary were present.
Today, on the first day, a total of 13 matches were held in Under 15 category and Under 13 boys categories. Arpit Kumar of Gaya defeated Faizal Iqbal 21/8, 21/9, Shashi Raj of Motihari defeated Raunak Kumar of Khagaria 21/7, 13/21/ 21/14. Suryansh Kumar Singh of Munger defeated Aditya Raj of Muzaffarpur by 21- 6,21-9 while Yash Bharti of Katihar defeated Suyash Raj of Samastipur by 21-11 21-5, Kavya Kashyap of Muzaffarpur defeated Abdul Wahab of Khagaria in straight sets by 21-6,21-7. Ankit Kumar of Patna defeated Ayush Raj of Muzaffarpur by 21-10,22-20, while the match of Saurabh Raj of Begusarai and Roshan Raj of Bettiah could not be held due to some paper procedures in which Saurabh Raj was declared the winner.
Krishna Kumar of Patna defeated Anand Kumar by 21-11 21-11, while Ayaan Ali Siddiqui defeated Abhinav Kumar Motihari by 21-11 21-11. The match of Ishant Raj Samastipur and Aditya Sharma Purnia also got disturbed in some paper processes. Ishant Raj was declared the winner due to walk over. Aryan Garg defeated Aryan Raj Patna by 21-18 21-17, Aaradhya Kumar of Muzaffarpur defeated Ayushman Pratap of Begusarai by 21-14 21-10, Arpit Kumar of Gaya defeated Aryan Singh of Patna 21-4,21-4. Aryan Singh Patna beat Ayan Ali Siddiqui of Madhubani 21-14 21-11.
This entire event is being organized by the Network Committee of Begusarai District Badminton Association. Committee Secretary Manish Kumar, former Secretary Sanjay Kumar Sinha were present along with Yashwant, Pradeep Sunny Manoj Kumar Munna Manoj Kumar Munna Mithilesh Kumar Saurabh Kumar and others.
