Patna: Two Patna High Court judges recently said human rights were at the heart of the constitutional order.
Addressing an international seminar, organised by Deen Dayal Upadhyay Global Foundation in Dubai on Tuesday, Justice Sanjay Kumar and Justice Anjani Kumar Sharan said the court system in India was according top priority to human rights-related matters.
In his speech, Justice Kumar traced the history of United Nations, spoke about its policies and listed the various core values of democracy as enshrined in the Indian Constitution. He also recalled the contributions of Sachchidand Sinha of Bihar in the making of the Constitution.
Justice Sharan urged the Bihari diaspora, present on the occasion, to contribute in the development of their country as well as home state and urged them to invest in Bihar.
Senior Bihar cadre IPS officer Vikas Vaibhav, who attended the seminar online, explained the objectives of his organisation, ‘Let’s Inspire Bihar’. “Our dream is to create a Bihar in our lifetime from where no one would be required to go out for education or employment,” he added.
The event was organised by Ravi Shankar Chand, a Bihari based in Dubai, who also founded the Deen Dayal Upadhyay Global Foundation. Many non-resident Indians (NRIs), especially people from Bihar living in Dubai, participated in this programme.
Describing the event as historic, Ravi Chand requested Justice Kuamr, Justice Sharan and Vaibhav to remain connected with three lakh Bihari people living in Dubai and provide them guidance. He also spoke about the principles of Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya’s’ Antyodaya’ programme. A businessman from Bihar, Shobhit Kumar, was also present on the occasion.
