Patna: Bihar registered a commanding victory over Sikkim by a margin of 154 runs in the Women’s Under-23 One Day Trophy match held at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium in Civil Lines, Nagpur. After being put in to bat first, Bihar posted a total of 224 runs in 49.5 overs. In response, Sikkim were bowled out for a mere 70 runs in 28.2 overs, succumbing to Bihar’s disciplined bowling attack.
Batting first, Bihar’s innings was anchored by a splendid knock of 80 runs from Shruti, who faced 84 balls and struck 12 fours. Preeti chipped in with 31 runs, while Komal R. Kumari added 25 runs to the total. Harshita contributed 21 runs, Akshara Gupta scored 14, and both captain Yashita Singh and Nikki Kumari made 10 runs each. Tejaswi managed 3 runs, and Nandita Nandan remained unbeaten on 2 runs. For Sikkim, Lisa and Rachal claimed two wickets each, while captain Pranita, Dikcha, and Preetika took one wicket apiece.
In their chase, Sikkim struggled against Bihar’s tight bowling and were dismissed for 70 runs in 28.2 overs. Captain Pranita was the lone fighter for Sikkim, remaining unbeaten on 22 runs off 55 balls, including 2 fours. Lisa contributed 12 runs off 35 balls, but no other batter managed to reach double figures.
Bihar’s bowling attack was led by Preeti Kumari, who took 3 wickets for just 7 runs in 5.2 overs, including a maiden. Captain Yashita Singh claimed 2 wickets for 17 runs in 4 overs, while Tejaswi picked up 2 wickets for 13 runs in 5 overs, also bowling a maiden. Komal added to the tally with 1 wicket.
