Hockey Patna Triumph over Muzaffarpur 2-1 to Claim Senior Men’s State Championship

Patna: The 14th Hockey Bihar Senior Men’s State Championship 2024, organised by Hockey Patna, concluded at Dung Dung Stadium, BRC Danpur, with Hockey Patna defeating Hockey Muzaffarpur 2-1 in a thrilling final.

In the closely contested match, Johnny Kumar put Patna ahead 1-0 with a penalty corner goal in the 39th minute of the third quarter. Muzaffarpur’s Nandlal Shah responded with an equalising penalty corner goal in the 42nd minute, making it 1-1. In the 55th minute of the fourth quarter, Salman Khan clinched the victory for Patna with a decisive field goal, securing the title.

Johnny Kumar was named Player of the Match and Best Scorer, while Rohit Kumar was awarded Best Goalkeeper, and Shanu Lama was honoured as Best Player.

Nelson Kujur and Preeti Kumari officiated as umpires, with Rambali Kumar, Raju Kumar, Ravi Kumar, and Vikas Kumar Singh on the technical table.

In the awards ceremony, Army Officer Pritam Bahadur and BRC Danpur’s Jitendra Kumar presented medals and trophies to the winning team, while Hockey Bihar Convenor Munindra awarded the runners-up and delivered a vote of thanks.

Assistant Secretaries Manoj Kumar and Achal Kumar, along with Hockey Patna Secretary Munindra and other distinguished guests, attended the closing ceremony to celebrate the success of the tournament.
