Patna: Jharkhand XI beat Spandan Club Bengal by 10 wickets in the fourth match of the round robin league of the MP Verma Memorial Cricket Tournament at Urja Cricket Stadium on Monday.
Electing to bat first, Spandan Club Bengal scored 62 runs. Jharkhand bowlers Aditya Jha and Harsh Rana wreaked havoc. Aditya Raj took 5 wickets for 12 runs, while Harsh Rana took 3 wickets for 11 runs.
For Spandan Club, Mayur scored 25 runs in 25 balls, Bobby Yadav scored 14 runs in 20 balls, and Aniket scored 11 runs in 28 balls.
In reply, Jharkhand XI team captain Sharandeep Singh struck a quickfire 53 runs with the help of 10 fours and 2 sixes in 18 balls to guide his team to victory without losing any wickets. With this win, the Jharkhand XI booked their berth in the final, which will be held on April 21. The fifth match of the match will be played between MP Verma XI and Spandan Club Bengal. Aditya Jha was named the man of the match. He was awarded Rs 1000 in cash and a memento by Aditya Verma.
Verma said that MP Shatrughan Sinha has agreed to come as the chief guest in the final to be held on April 21. Former Test cricketer Surendra Amarnath and first Asia Cup man of the match Surendra Khanna of Delhi will be present in the final. Former Union Minister Subodh Kant Sahay will also be the special guest.
