Gulshan hits ton in Rising Star Win

Patna: Rising Star CC began their winning campaign in Patna District Senior Division Cricket League thanks to the brilliant batting of captain Gulshan (106 runs), Animesh Kumar (85 runs) and Aman Raj (73 not out) followed by the excellent bowling of Govind (4 wickets) and Aditya Dhanraj (3 wickets).

In the match played at the 22 Yard Cricket Academy ground, Rising Star CC defeated Kamala Nehru Cricket Club (KNCC) by a huge margin of 141 runs. Rising Star, playing first, scored 308 runs for 5 wickets in the stipulated 40 overs. In reply, KNCC were all out for 167 runs in 30.4 overs. Govind Kumar (17 runs, four wickets) of the winning team was awarded the Player of the Match.

Rising Star captain Gulshan Kumar won the toss and decided to bat first. Openers Animesh and Gulshan made an important partnership of 157 runs for the first wicket. Animesh was moving towards his century but he was caught by Diwakar Kumar on 85 off Prakhar Gyan’s ball. Agastya (4) returned to the pavilion cheaply.

After this Gulshan got the support of Aman Raj and both of them made a partnership of 95 runs and took the score beyond 250. After Gulshan’s dismissal two wickets of Rising Star (Satyam (3) and Keshav (4)) fell quickly. After this Govind and Aman stayed on the wicket and took the score of Rising Star beyond 300. Rising Star made 308 runs for 5 wickets in the stipulated 40 overs.

For Rising Star, Animesh Kumar scored 85 runs in 53 balls with 11 fours and 2 sixes, Gulshan Kumar scored 106 runs in 107 balls with 9 fours and 2 sixes, Aman Raj scored unbeaten 73 runs in 59 balls with 5 fours and 3 sixes, Govind Kumar scored unbeaten 17 runs in 8 balls with 2 fours.

For KNCC, Prakhar Gyan took 2 wickets, Surya Prakash took 1 wicket and Diwakar Kumar took 1 wicket.

In reply, KNCC also had a good start. There was a 45-run partnership between Simukh and Anmol Boni for the first wicket. The first blow came in the form of Simukh. Simukh returned to the pavilion after scoring 19 runs. After this, Prakhar Gyan came to support Anmol. There was a 46-run partnership between these two. Anmol returned to the pavilion after scoring 59 runs. After this, KNCC wickets started falling. In between, Diwakar did some good batting and KNCC’s score reached 167 runs after losing all wickets in 30.4 overs.

For KNCC, Simukh scored 19 runs in 19 balls with the help of 2 fours and 1 six, Anmol Boni scored 59 runs in 31 balls with the help of 8 fours and 2 sixes, Prakhar Gyan scored 19 runs in 22 balls with the help of 2 fours, Diwakar Kumar scored 37 runs in 45 balls with the help of 2 fours.

For Rising Star, Govind Kumar took 4 wickets, Aditya Dhanraj took 3, Pankaj Kumar took 1, Samrat Sunny took 1 wicket.
