Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Saturday visited Sitab Diara in Saran district, the birthplace of Loknayak Jayaprakash Narayan, the pioneer of total revolution and inspected the development works. In the course of the inspection, the Chief Minister took stock of the anti-erosion work done at Loknayak Smriti Bhawan cum Library, Prabhavati Devi Primary Health Center, Sitab Diara Ring Dam and the newly constructed road from Sitab Diara to the main road. The Chief Minister also paid homage to the statue of Loknayak Jayaprakash Narayan and his wife, Late Prabhavati Devi at Loknayak Smriti Bhawan cum library.
Giving instructions to the officers in order to inspect the Loknayak Smriti Bhawan cum library, the Chief Minister said that a collection of 800 original photographs and 800 books related to the life of Loknayak Jayaprakash Narayan ji and the 1974 movement have been kept here. He said that a collection of books, speeches and photographs related to the movements and struggles carried out by the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi and Ram Manohar Lohia ji for the country’s independence should be kept here for constantly motivate people.
Giving instructions to the district magistrate, the Chief Minister said that people of Sitab Diara village should not face any kind of inconvenience, so that their problems should be resolved immediately after talking to each and every family of this village.
In order to inspect Prabhavati Devi Primary Health Center, Sitab Diara, while giving instructions to additional chief secretary, health department, Pratyaya Amrit, the Chief Minister said that action should be taken in the direction of construction of boundary wall of Prabhavati Devi Primary Health Center so that the boundary wall should be constructed at the earliest. For the 24×7 treatment of patients, arrangements should also be made for the accommodation of doctors here. Road construction department should build a pucca and wide road for easy movement to the health center.
After inspecting the site of anti-erosion work done on Sitab Diyara Ring Dam, the Chief Minister took detailed information from the officials of the Water Resources Department. The Chief Minister appreciated the anti-erosion work done on the Sitab Diara Ring Dam. Giving instructions to the officials of the Water Resources Department, the Chief Minister said that the part of this ring dam falling in Uttar Pradesh should be discussed with the concerned department there to repair it. If required in its construction, the Bihar government will bear its expenses. We have decided to build a bridge over Ghaghra river to reduce the distance from Sitab Diara to Chapra. With the construction of the bridge, the distance will be reduced significantly and people will get a lot of convenience in the movement. Along with this, the connectivity of Chapra and Saran will also increase.
