Patna: A fine century by opening batsman Vaibhav Govekar (112 not) and his unbroken partnership of 132 runs with Kashyap Bakle ( 45 not out) helped Goa take a sound lead of 195 runs over Bihar in their second innings with eight wickets still in hands on the third day of the multi-day U-25 match for Col CK Nayudu Trophy at the Moinul Haq Stadium here on Tuesday.
Earlier, Goa took a vital first innings lead of 20 runs over Bihar as the hosts were all out for 247 runs in their first innings after resuming the day at 165 for 6.
Vaibhav Govekar unbeaten 112 contained 15 boundaries and one six and it came off 141 balls while Kashyap Bakle’s unbeaten 45 contained five hits to the fence.
Wednesday would be the last day of the match and it appears that the match is heading for a draw.
Earlier, overnight not out batsman Akash Raj added only 8 runs to his overnight score of 74 not out before being adjudged lbw off Heramb Parab for 82. Other not out bastman A Anand too got out soon adding only two runs to his overnight score of 32 runs. Heramb Parab bagged three wickets for Goa.
