Patna: In the semi-final clash of the BCA Men’s Senior One Day Trophy held at Moinul Haq Stadium in Patna, Gopalganj emerged victorious by defeating Bhagalpur by 4 wickets, securing their place in the final.
Batting first, Bhagalpur posted a total of 183 runs in 42.2 overs. Mayank Krishna Chaudhary played a pivotal role, scoring 62 runs off 83 deliveries, including 9 fours, to anchor his side to a respectable total. Sachin Dilip Kumar contributed 34 runs from 51 balls, hitting 4 boundaries, while Rakeshendra Jagdish Rudra and Basukinath Yudhishthir Mishra added 20 and 18 runs respectively. Bhanu Devendra Kumar chipped in with 12 runs.
Gopalganj’s bowlers delivered a disciplined performance. Amod Yadav, Rinkal Tiwari, Prashant Srivastava, and Sachin Kumar Singh each claimed 2 wickets, while Prashant Kumar took 1 wicket to restrict Bhagalpur’s innings.
In response, Gopalganj chased down the target comfortably, scoring 185 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in just 30.3 overs. Sachin Kumar Singh was instrumental with a well-crafted innings of 63 runs, blending patience and aggression effectively. Prashant Srivastava remained unbeaten on 36, steering his team to victory, with Aditya Pandey providing valuable support with an unbeaten 17 runs.
For Bhagalpur, Chandan Yogendra Rai and Bhanu Devendra Kumar took 2 wickets each, while Sachin Dilip Kumar and Ankush Jitendra Kumar claimed 1 wicket apiece. Despite their efforts, Gopalganj’s strong batting performance ensured their progression to the final.
