First day’s play of Bihar vs Sikkim Ranji Trophy match washed out

Patna: The first day’s play of Bihar vs Sikkim Ranji Trophy plate group match was washed out at the Urja Stadium in Patna on Tuesday, according to BCCI portal.

Meanwhile, a press release of Bihar Cricket Association (BCA) said that bad weather hindered the Ranji Trophy match which was to be played between Bihar and Sikkim at the Urja Stadium from Tuesday.

The release further said that the umpire decided not to conduct the toss due to excessive moisture on the pitch and bad light.

Though the in the morning the weather was bad in Patna due to dense fog and cold wind but a few hours of play was possible in Col CK Nayudu Trophy match being played between Bihar and Chhatttisgarh at the Moinul Haq Stadium which is situated about 10 km away from Urja Stadium.

Now, the questions are being raised by cricket lovers whether the Urja Stadium did not have the standard pitch cover. Moreover, there was no rain in Patna on Monday night or on Tuesday.
