Muzaffarpur, April 27: In a gripping encounter of the BCA Senior Men’s Cricket Tournament, East Champaran secured a thrilling 6-run victory over Sitamarhi at the local NICA Kapurpura ground.
East Champaran’s innings was highlighted by outstanding performances from Yusuf Nadeem, who scored an unbeaten 118, and Sakibu Gani, who contributed 111 runs.
Sitamarhi’s batting response was commendable, with Sundaram Kumar (60 runs) and Vipul Krishna (64 runs) notching up half-centuries. Aniket played an unbeaten innings of 47 runs, while Saheb Ali scored a quickfire unbeaten 34 runs off just 18 balls.
Having won the toss, East Champaran opted to bat first and posted a total of 296 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in their allotted 50 overs. In reply, Sitamarhi fought hard but fell short, being all out for 290 runs in 49.3 overs.
