Bhagalpur: Dr Nawal Kishore Choudhary, who took over as District Magistrate (DM) here recently has been included in list of “The 23 Innovators of 2023: Top Grassroot Performers in Indian Bureaucracy”.
An independent initiative of “Bureaucrats India”, the identification and enlistment of top grassroot performers in Indian Bureaucracy is aimed at acknowledging grassroot level innovations of bureaucrats leading to positive changes.
Dr Choudhury has been enlisted among top 23 grassroot performers in Indian bureaucracy in recognition of his efforts made for getting an app named “Gopalganj Ka Gaurav” (Pride of Gopalganj) launched during his tenure as district magistrate of Gopalganj.
The common people can share their views and opinion regarding developmental initiatives through the app. The app functions as one stop platform for seeking all information related to Gopalganj district.
Launching of the app has proved useful in linking people of district with different places at global level. Dr Choudhary as district magistrate of Gopalganj had also introduced practice of rewarding people who bring honour for the district through their acts and deeds.
To promote learning and increasing access of common people to books, as district magistrate he had also launched book donation campaign named “Pustak Daan Mahaabhiyan” in Gopalganj during his tenure.
Under the campaign candidates registering success in different competitive examinations were approached for donation of books, magazines and study notes. The donation thus received were made available to students preparing for different competitive examinations.
Led by Dr Choudhury the Gopalganj administration had ensured bank linkages including NABARD for farmers in order to help them take up mushroom farming.
