CPI-ML Organises Tiranga March Across Bihar to Protect Constitutional Values

By Vishwapati

Patna: On the occasion of the 76th Republic Day, the Communist Party of India (Marxist–Leninist) [CPI-ML] organised a massive Tiranga March across Bihar, drawing thousands of workers and citizens. The Preamble of the Constitution was collectively recited at various locations as part of the Samvidhan Bachao Abhiyan (Save the Constitution Campaign), an initiative that has been ongoing for two months. During this campaign, stone plaques inscribed with the Preamble have been installed in different parts of the state to foster public awareness about safeguarding the core principles of the Constitution, democracy, and social justice.

In Darbhanga, CPI-ML General Secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya, Politburo member Dhirendra Jha, Legislative Council member Shashi Yadav, and AISA leader Prasanjit led the march. Addressing the participants, Dipankar Bhattacharya emphasised the importance of defending constitutional values, stating, “Today is a day to pledge to protect the Constitution, its commitment to freedom, liberty, equality, brotherhood, and socialism. The current government is attempting to eliminate secularism and socialist values from the Preamble. The Modi government is metaphorically tearing a page of the Constitution every day. The youth must rise to defend democracy and the Constitution against such assaults.”

In Patna, the party’s state secretary Kunal and senior leader KD Yadav hoisted the tricolour at the state and legislative party offices, respectively. Similar programmes were held at various party offices and the residences of Members of the Legislative Assembly, with recitations of the Preamble taking place.

A special event at Fasiyari Shaheed Sthal in Patna City witnessed hundreds of attendees, while a prominent tricolour march was held from GPO Golambhar. Party leaders, workers, and citizens participated in large numbers, carrying tricolour flags and portraits of Baba Saheb Ambedkar, underscoring the commitment to protecting the spirit of the Constitution.
