Kumar Shrey: Triple century

Patna:  Kumar Shrey slammed a triple century (302) as Bihar posted a mammoth 606 for four in their first innings against Manipur on the third day of the four-day Cooch Behar Trophy at Gujarat College Ground in Ahmedabad on Monday.

Two other Bihar batsmen Animesh Kumar (121 runs) and captain Ayush Anand (102 not out) also scored centuries.  At the end of third day’s play Manipur were struggling at 62 for the loss of four wickets.

On the basis of the first innings, Bihar got a huge lead of 389 runs and needed 6 wickets to win. Bihar declared at 606 for four in their first innings while Manipur made at 155 runs in their first innings

Bihar started the second day at 386 for no loss. Kumar Shrey got out after scoring 302 runs in 438 balls with the help of 39 fours. Yash Raj and Ayush Anand together took the Bihar score to 606 runs before the declaration of the innings. Ayush Anand scored 102 not out in 125 balls with the help of 10 fours and 1 six and Yash Raj scored 12 not out.

For Manipur, Mohd Aqeel Ahmed took 1 for 132, Rahul Kumar took 1 for 70, Kalyan took 1 for 140. Kumar Shrey run out.

In their second innings, Manipur were 62 runs for the loss of four wickets. Somokanta (29) and Lyrejam Ansh Singh (5) were at the crease. For Bihar, Priyam Choubey took two wickets for 24 runs, Aniket Kumar took one wicket for 16 runs and Animesh Kumar took one wicket for four runs.
