Patna: The Chandramani Prasad Singh Memorial Under-14 Cricket Tournament commenced with great enthusiasm on Monday, 9 December, at the Bihar Cricket Academy, La Martiniere World School, Sampatchak. The event was inaugurated by Shiv Prakash, Principal of La Martiniere World School, alongside notable guests including Patna District Cricket Association Secretary Rajesh Singh, Patna District Cricket League Organising Committee Chairman Dhananjay Singh, former Ranji Trophy player Kumar Mridul, Ranji player Rishabh Raj, and Suday Kumar. The dignitaries released balloons and interacted with the players during the opening ceremony.
Technical Head Rupak Kumar extended a warm welcome to all present, while Academy coach Ashutosh Kumar Jyoti expressed his gratitude to the organisers and participants.
SCA XI Triumph in Opening Match
The inaugural match saw SCA XI secure a convincing 6-wicket victory over SKY Playing XI. After winning the toss, SCA XI opted to field first. SKY Playing XI posted a total of 152 runs for 6 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. In response, SCA XI chased down the target in just 14.5 overs, finishing at 157 for 4.
Mani Kumar of SCA XI played a pivotal role in the victory and was named Player of the Match. He received the award from former Ranji player Kumar Mridul.
