The Chief Minister stated: “Under PM Modi’s leadership, we maintained constant pressure on the opposition and achieved great success in UP in 2014, 2017, 2019, and 2022. The BJP managed to secure a similar percentage of votes in 2024 as in previous elections. However, the shifting of votes and overconfidence hurt our expectations. As a result, the opposition, which was decimated in the previous elections, is engaged in chest-thumping today.”
He added: “When in 2022, the opposition had resorted to violence after the elections, our party workers felt that our government’s Mafia-free UP agenda was actually meant for taking these goons to task. Today with your support, we have succeeded in making UP Mafia-free. Apart from this, when Shri Ramlala was seated in his temple in Ayodhya, the wait of 500 years has also ended. The BJP workers do not need to come on the backfoot in any situation.”
CM Yogi stated that during Moharram in the past, roads would often empty out, while today. It is barely noticeable. “Previously, houses were demolished for Tazia processions, peepal trees were cut, and road wires were removed. Today, we ensure that the houses are not demolished, nor wires removed. Our clear directive is to celebrate festivals according to the rules, or stay home. The BJP has demonstrated good governance with rule of law across the entire country”, he remarked.
Reflecting on the COVID-19 period, the Chief Minister said that India under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India set a model for the world to emulate by providing ration to 80 crore people without discriminating among people on the bases of caste, opinion, or religion and ensuring that no one starved to death. “During that time, BJP and RSS workers were out on the streets risking their lives and serving the people, while no other political party was seen”, he asserted.
Addressing the issue of encephalitis, Yogi mentioned that when JP Nadda became the Health Minister, he met him as an MP and the government prioritized the fight against the disease, which had terrorized Purvanchal for over 40 years, successfully eradicating it from the state. CM Yogi highlighted that AIIMS is now operational in Gorakhpur. He also noted that infrastructure in UP, once a distant dream, has significantly improved, with four-lane connectivity now common throughout the state.
CM Yogi said that the government fulfilled its pledge to make Bundelkhand dacoit-free and has made the state mafia-free. Remembering Dr. Lohia, he remarked: “Lohia ji had said that as long as Ram, Krishna and Shiva are worshipped in India, no one can destroy India. But these socialists have tarnished the tradition of Ram, Krishna, and Shiva. When Raju Pal and Umesh Pal were murdered in Prayagraj, were they not from backward castes? Along with Krishnanand Rai, Ramesh Patel and Ramesh Yadav were also killed; were they not from backward castes? Today, those who offer prayers for the mafia, have again reached a position where they feel emboldened to shout and challenge.”
The Chief Minister mentioned that the medical college in Kannauj was initially named after Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, but the then SP Chief Minister changed its name. However, when the BJP government came into power, it restored the name to honor Baba Saheb. The Samajwadi Party has consistently disrespected Dalit thinkers and great leaders, he emphasized.
“They attempted to undermine the reservation system for Scheduled Castes and worked to halt SC scholarships. In contrast, Prime Minister Modi created Baba Saheb’s Panch Teerth and placed the Constitution at the top in the new Parliament. The BJP is a party that upholds the highest respect for the Constitution, yet attempts have been made to disrupt the atmosphere through rumors and misinformation”, he pointed out.
CM Yogi stated that the world knows that a divided India can be easily defeated, but a united one can withstand even the strongest forces. “We must be vigilant against the division of power along caste lines witnessed in this election, he remarked, emphasizing the importance of utilizing social media platforms effectively.
“Opposition forces and foreigners successfully used social media to conspire against us. As a party with a nationalist mission, BJP workers must monitor social media, counter rumors immediately, and highlight the party’s respect for Scheduled Caste leaders. In 2019, we defeated the largest alliance in the state”, he asserted.
The Chief Minister said that the BJP won all 17 mayor seats in the municipal elections and the maximum number of municipal bodies seats. The party has maximum representation with chairmen and councillors across the state. The party also won the by-elections in Azamgarh and Rampur, Yogi said, exuding confidence that the party is poised to bag the 10 assembly seats during the upcoming by-elections.
