Patna: Neeraj Kumar Pappu, the General Secretary of the Kho-Kho Association of Bihar, has been recognised for his contributions to the sport. He played a key role as a member of the ground committee during the first Kho-Kho World Cup, organised by the Kho-Kho Federation of India in New Delhi. For his efforts, he was awarded a certificate of appreciation by Kho-Kho International.
Raveendran Sankaran, the Director General of the Bihar State Sports Authority, congratulated Neeraj on this achievement. He said, “This certificate is not just a moment of pride for you but also brings honour to Bihar.”
Speaking about the recognition, Neeraj Kumar Pappu said, “This certificate will motivate us to keep moving forward. It is a proud moment for the Kho-Kho community in Bihar.” He also thanked Sudhanshu Mittal, President of the Kho-Kho Federation of India, and MS Tyagi, its General Secretary, for their support. He added, “The Kho-Kho Association of Bihar is grateful for the guidance and encouragement provided by the federation to promote the sport in the state. Whatever responsibilities the federation assigns to me in the future, I will fulfil them with dedication.”
Neeraj also praised the Bihar government for its efforts to promote sports. He said, “The government is doing excellent work to encourage traditional sports like Kho-Kho. With their support, we hope to organise a major Kho-Kho event in Bihar in the near future.”
This recognition highlights the growing popularity of Kho-Kho and the efforts being made to revive and promote traditional sports in Bihar.
