Catch a Glimpse of the rich and diverse cultural heritage of Bihar and the living art and craft traditions exquisite handloom weavers at Bihar Utsav 2023
New Delhi: The 15-day Bihar Utsav, organized every year on the occasion of Bihar Foundation Day, will be organized from March 16, 2023 to March 31, 2023 by the Department of Industries, Government of Bihar at INA Delhi Haat, New Delhi, in which Around 120 stalls will be set up by Bihar’s Handicraft, Handloom, Bihar Khadi, Beneficiaries of Mukhyamantri Udyami Yojana, Beneficiaries of PMEGP Yojana. Along with this, cultural programs are being organized by the artists of Bihar from March 21 to March 23 to promote the art and culture of Bihar.
Giving information about the event, Additional Chief Secretary, Department of Industries, Govt. of Bihar, Sandeep Pondrik said, ‘this year Bihar Utsav and Bihar Day celebrations are being celebrated at INA Dilli Haat in New Delhi from March 16 to 31 March 2023. For this, Dilli Haat will be decorated on Bihar theme.’
Dilip Kumar, Special Secretary, Department of Industries, Government of Bihar said that this year 120 stalls of Bihar’s famous handloom and handicrafts have been set up in Bihar Utsav 2023, in which Bihar’s famous Bhagalpuri silk and Bihar’s famous handicrafts and handicrafts have been displayed. He said that through Bihar Utsav, the artists of Bihar get the opportunity for sale, exhibition and marketing of their handloom and handicraft products. Apart from this, the food stall of Bihari delicious dishes will also be special. Handicraft Products made by two Padma Shri awarded artists Kapil Dev Prasad of Bawan Booti Handicraft Art and Subhadra Devi, famous artist of Paper Messy and Madhubani painting will be the centre of attraction at Bihar Utsav.
World famous Madhubani and Mithila painting, Manjusha painting, Patna Tikuli art, Bhagalpuri silk, Bihar Khadi clothes and products, jute made items like jute jewelry, Nipura handloom and handloom beds at specially decorated places during Bihar festival. The seat, chadar will especially be the center of attraction of the fair.
Through other stalls, the famous Bhagalpuri silk, Mithila painting, Siki made material, Motihari’s attractive shell made jewelry, terra cotta made items, jute made items such as jute jewelry Tikuli art as well as Nalanda, Biharsharif’s Nepura silk and Handloom made bed, seat, sheet will especially be the center of attraction of the fair. On the occasion of this Bihar Day, a cultural program of Bihar folk art and music will be organized on March 21, 22 and 23 from 6 to 8 pm.
