Bihar team loses narrowly in pre quarterfinals to Tamil Nadu

Patna: Bihar team is out of the 33rd National Sub Junior Girls Kabaddi Championship. In the thrilling pre-quarterfinal match, Bihar team lost to Tamil Nadu by a margin of just 1 point.

The knockout matches started on the third day of this championship being hosted by Bihar State Kabaddi Association at the local Patliputra Sports Complex. Bihar faced Tamil Nadu in the pre-quarterfinals. At one time Bihar had a lead of 9 points over Tamil Nadu but after this Tamil Nadu made a comeback and defeated Bihar 32-31.

The match was inaugurated by Raveendran Sankaran, Director General of Bihar State Sports Authority and he was introduced to the players. Kumar Vijay, Secretary of Bihar State Kabaddi Association welcomes him.

In other pre-quarterfinal matches, Haryana defeated Himachal Pradesh 34-14, Punjab defeated Delhi 41-24, Goa defeated Telangana 53-28, UP defeated Maharashtra 59-28, Uttaranchal defeated Assam 47-44, Rajasthan defeated SAI. 33-16 and Chhattisgarh defeated Jharkhand 32-29.

In the quarterfinals, Haryana will face Punjab, Goa will face UP, Tamil Nadu will face Uttaranchal and Rajasthan will face Chhattisgarh. The quarterfinal match will be played tonight itself.

Prize distribution ceremony on April 3

The grand finale and prize distribution ceremony of this competition has been organized on April 3 at 5 pm. The chief guest of the award distribution ceremony will be Dr B. Rajender (IAS), Principal Secretary, Sports Department. While Director General of Bihar State Sports Authority Raveendran Sankaran will be the guest of honor while Director cum Secretary of Bihar State Sports Authority Pankaj Kumar Raj will be the guest of honour.
International Kabaddi players Priyanka Pilnia and Pooja will be the centre of attraction of the event.

Quarterifnals results
Haryana beat Punjab 64-19; Goa beat Uttar Pradesh 51-33; Uttranchal beat Tamil Ndo 41-40 and Rajasthan beat Chhattisgargh 49-15.
