Bihar struggling against Mumbai in Ranji Trophy

Patna: Bihar were struggling at 89 for six in their first innings against Mumbai on the second day of the Ranji Trophy match at the Moinul Haq Stadium here on Sunday. Earlier, Mumbai were all out for 251 runs in their first innings.

The play was called off early due to bad light on the second day, At the end of the day’s play Akash Raj and captain Ashutosh Aman were at the crease.

Mumbai, playing ahead of 235 runs for nine wickets on the first day, was all out after scoring 251 runs. Bihar’s fast bowler, Veer Pratap took five wickets.

Playing in reply to Mumbai’s 251 runs, the start of the Bihar team was not good; Shraman Nigrodh was out scoring 2 runs in the very first over Mohit Awasthi. Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who came in at number three, also played some aggressive shots in the beginning but fell victim to Shivam Dubey after scoring 19 runs with the help of four fours. Sakibul Gani seemed to be struggling to some extent, with wickets falling at regular intervals. Babul was out for 8 runs, Gani was out for 22 runs while Bipin Saurabh was out without opening his accounts, and Sachin Kumar Singh was out after scoring 5 runs.

At the end of the second day’s play, Akash Raj was unbeaten on 26 runs and Ashutosh Aman was unbeaten on 5 runs. Mumbai’s Mohit Awasthi took 4 wickets and Shivam Dubey took 2 wickets.
