Patna: Bihar beat Nagaland by six wickets in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy T20 Cricket Tournament organised by BCCI at Holkar Stadium in Indore on Wednesday.
Batting first, Nagaland scored 145 for 8 in 20 overs playing first. Bihar chased the target of 146 runs in 19.1 overs by making 148 for the loss of four and won the match by six wickets.
Nagaland had a disappointing start in their innings. Bihar bowlers took the wickets of openers cheaply. Nagaland finally scored 145 for 8 in 20 overs with the help of 66 runs from R Jonathan and 43 runs from Chetan Bist. Jonathan made 66 off 60 balls with the help of 5 fours and one six and Chetan Visht scored 43 runs off 35 balls with the help of one four and two sixes. Apart from this, Joshua scored 6, Sejle 9, SS Munde made 3 and AM Singh scored 7 runs. Extras contributed 10 runs.
For Bihar, Anuj Raj took 4 wickets for 32 runs, Abhijit Saket took 2 for 19 runsand Raghavendra Pratap took one wicket for 24 runs.
In reply, Bihar hit up the required runs losing four wickets in 19.1 overs. For Bihar, Mangal Mahrour scored 47 runs in 39 balls with the help of 4 fours and one six, Sachin Kumar Singh scored an unbeaten 34 runs in 18 balls with the help of 3 fours and 2 sixes. Apart from this, Bipin Saurabh made 29 off 19 balls with the help of 3 fours and 2 sixes, Sakibul Gani made 22 off 27 balls with the help of one six and Piyush Kumar Singh scored 19 and Raghavendra Pratap scored 3 runs not out.
For Nagaland, AM Singh (1/26), Nagho (1/22), SS Munde (1/24) and Tehmeed (1/18) were the successful bowlers.
