Patna: Women from Bihar dominated the Khelo India Zonal Women’s Road Cycling League on its last day on the Ganga Path here on Sunday.
In the senior category of 40 Km Mass Stars held today, Gangotri of Assam won gold, Ruchika of Uttar Pradesh won silver, and Gulachali of Jharkhand won the bronze medal.
In the 24 km junior category, Amrita of Bihar won gold, Ankit Verma of Assam won silver, and Manju Kumari Shah of West Bengal won the bronze medal.
In the 16-kilometer sub-junior category, all three Bihar girls—Srishti Kumari won gold, Siya Kumari won the silver, and Supriya won the bronze medal.
In 10-kilometer youth, Akanksha Verma of Assam won gold, Lakshmi Kumari of Jharkhand won silver, and Kajal Kumari Rai of West Bengal won bronze.
Bihar scored te highest points (28) in this league and emerged as the overall champion. The Uttar Pradesh team was declared the runner-up after scoring (19) points.
DG of Bihar Sports Authority, Raveendran Shankaran, gave away the prizes.
On this occasion, President of the Cycling Association of Bihar Jagjivan Singh, Vice President Vikram Aditya, Secretary Dr. Kaushal Kishore Singh, Treasurer Baijnath Prasad, supervisor Narendra Singh appointed by SAI, coach AK Lewis, Sandeep Singh, Vijay Shankar, Ashish Kushwaha, Siddharth Verma, Shyam Kumar Jha, Mohd. Armaan, Rohit Kumar, and Tej Narayan were present on the occasion.
