Patna: The Bihar government has announced that the theme for this year’s Bihar Diwas (Bihar Day) celebrations will be “Unnat Bihar, Vikasit Bihar” (Developed Bihar, Progressive Bihar). Marking the occasion, a grand fair has been organised at Gandhi Maidan in Patna, showcasing the state’s progress across various departments. The event aims to highlight Bihar’s developmental journey while offering a vibrant mix of culture, entertainment, and culinary delights.
The fair, which is being held from March 22 to March 26, will feature exhibitions by different state departments, presenting their achievements and future plans. Visitors will be able to witness firsthand the strides Bihar has made in its development. Alongside the exhibitions, the event will also include entertainment programmes and a special focus on Bihari cuisine, organised by the Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation Ltd. Food enthusiasts can indulge in traditional delicacies such as Litti Chokha, Khurma, and Pua, offering a true taste of Bihar’s rich culinary heritage.
This year’s Bihar Diwas celebrations, coordinated by the Education Department, will span three days, with additional days dedicated to departmental exhibitions. The festivities will kick off on March 22, with cultural programmes, performances, and displays planned at Gandhi Maidan.
The Patna Traffic Police has made extensive arrangements to manage the expected influx of visitors. Special parking zones have been designated, with separate areas for VVIPs, VIPs, general visitors, and media personnel. A total of 58 traffic points have been established around Gandhi Maidan, with 125 traffic officers and 300 constables deployed to ensure smooth operations.

Parking details have been meticulously planned: VVIP vehicles will enter through Gate Number 1, VIP parking is allocated near Gate Number 4, general parking is available between Gates 6 and 10, and media personnel can park near Gate Number 12. These measures aim to provide a hassle-free experience for attendees.
Bihar Diwas, celebrated annually on March 22, commemorates the formation of the state of Bihar. This year’s theme, “Unnat Bihar, Vikasit Bihar,” reflects the government’s vision for a progressive and developed Bihar. The event not only celebrates the state’s cultural and historical legacy but also serves as a platform to showcase its ongoing transformation and future aspirations.
