Patna, July 19: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Monday released a book “From PHC to Super Specialty Orthopedic Hospital (A Journey of Efforts, Struggle and Triumph)” written by Orthopedic specialist Dr HN Diwakar at 1 Aney Marg here. In this book, Dr Diwakar has mentioned his experience and the journey from Primary Health Center (PHC) at Rajvanshi Nagar to Loknayak Jayaprakash Narayan Super Specialty Orthopedic and Trauma Center.
In order to reduce the burden of Patna Medical College and Hospital, in the year 2008, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar decided to build three super specialty hospitals in Patna. These included Rajendra Nagar Eye Super Specialty Hospital, Endocrinology Super Specialty Hospital for treatment of Diabetes at Gardiner Road and Super Specialty Hospital for Orthopedic and Neurology at Rajvanshi Nagar. Later, the Super Specialty Hospital established in Rajvanshi Nagar was renamed as Loknayak Jayaprakash Narayan Super Specialty Orthopedic and Trauma Center by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. At the time of establishment of this center, Dr Diwakar was working out of Patna. He was called to Patna and was given the responsibility of the center.
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar congratulated the author of the book Dr HN Diwakar. Dr Diwakar said that through this book an attempt has been made to give a message that treatment of all classes of people is possible in a government hospital.
Vice-Chairman of Bihar State Disaster Management Authority, Udaykant Mishra, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Deepak Kumar, Secretary to Chief Minister. Anupam Kumar and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
