Bhagalpur: With selection of Bhagalpur for hosting competition of two sports discipline of Khelo India Youth Games 2025, a national level sports competition, preparation has started here for successfully organizing the competitions.
Badminton and archery are two sports discipline for which competitions under Khelo India Youth Games 2025 would be organized here. The badminton and archery competitions would be respectively organized from May 8 to May 11 and May 4 to May 7.
Total sixty-four national level players each would participate in both badminton and archery competitions. The personnel who would be here for conducting the competitions include nineteen support staff each for both competitions, twenty-five and forty-two technical staffs each respectively for archery and badminton competitions apart from competition manager and chief de mission one each for both the competitions.
The venue of badminton and archery competitions would be respectively indoor stadium and Sandy’s Compound. For successful conduct of national level sports competition beside for convenient stay and transportation of the players who would be participating in the competitions, committees have been constituted by Dr Nawal Kishore Choudhury, District Magistrate (DM).
At a high-level meeting held here recently in which officials of state sports department and sports directorate apart for local officials were present, the arrangements being made for the competitions were reviewed.
Ground levelling, arrangements for ground covering, sitting arrangement for spectators, broadcasting arrangement, lighting facilities beside facilities of changing room and washroom at venue of competition were inspected by official team.
The DM has also held a meeting with proprietors /managers of major hotels to ensure players beside technical staff and officials who would be here in connection with the competitions could have comfortable stay.
With national level competition of two sports disciplines scheduled here, the local administration has initiated an all-out effort to ensure those who would be here in connection with the competition including players could have a wonderful experience during their stay in the city.
The local sports lovers in many cases feel successful hosting of national level competitions of Khelo India Youth Games 2025 could pave way for hosting similar important sports meet in city in future.
