Patna: Begusarai defeated Kaimur by 66 runs to enter the final of the BCA Men’s U23 One Day Trophy 2024-25 at Janaki Stadium, Sitamarhi on Tuesday.
Winning the toss and batting first, Begusarai scored 171 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the stipulated 50 overs. Shivam Laldev Raj top scored with 42 runs. Apart from him, Pushpam Naveen Raj contributed 32 runs, Yuvraj Ram Yadav scored 28 runs and Sudhanshu Rajkumar scored 22 runs.
For Kaimur, Diwan Danish Khan and Ajay Veer Dharamveer Singh took two wickets each, while Danish Arvind Chauhan and Chintu Radheshyam Gupta took one wicket each.
In reply, chasing a modest 172 to win Kaimur looked under pressure from the very beginning and the entire team was bowled out for 105 runs in 30.3 overs. For Kaimur Raju Kumar Sharma scored 31, Ajay Veer Dharamveer Singh scored 19, Chintu Radheshyam Gupta scored 15 and Abhijeet Kumar Pandey scored 13 runs.
For Begusarai, Ayush Praveen Kumar bowled brilliantly and took 4 wickets for 23 runs in 9 overs with 2 maidens. Harsh Dheeraj Verma took 3 wickets for 19 runs with 1 maiden in 5.3 overs. Sudhanshu Rajkumar took 2 and Aniket Subodh Jha took 1 wicket to wrap up Kaimur’s batting line up.
Now, Begusarai will take on Patna in the final at the Moinul Haq Stadium in Patna on April 10.
