Patna: Bihar Cricket Association has announced the domestic tournament schedule for the season 2023-24. According to the information posted on the official website of the Bihar Cricket Association, the Randhir Verma Under-19 Cricket Tournament will start in the third week of March.
This time, some changes have been made to the rules of the tournament, and strict rules have been made. The teams playing in the Super League will have only 15 players, out of which playing eleven will be formed.
The BCA portal said on the basis of discussions with district cricket associations and subsequent approval of the competent authority it has been decided to organize the Randhir Verma U-19 Inter District Cricket Tournament 2023-2024 from the 3rd week of March 2024.

- All 38 District Cricket Associations units of BCA will be grouped into 8 Zones as below;
- Patliputra Zone – Patna , Arwal, Vaishali, Saran ,
- Shahabad Zone – Kaimur, Sasaram, Aurangabad, Buxar, Bhojpur
iii. Magadh Zone – Gaya, Jehanabad, Nalanda, Nawada, Sheikhpura
- Angika Zone – Bhagalpur, Munger, Banka, Lakhisarai, Jamui
- Seemanchal Zone – Kishanganj, Katihar, Araria, Purnea, Madhepura
- Central Zone – Begusarai, Samastipur, Muzaffarpur, Khagadia, Saharsa
vii. Mithilanchal Zone – Darbhanga, Supaul, Sitamadhi, Madhubani, Sheohar.
viii. Western Zone – Gopalganj, Siwan, East Champaran, West Champaran.
- Two Zones will have 4 teams each and the rest Six Zones will have 5 teams each.
- The tournament matches will be played in two Stages (1) League (2) Super League. League Stage
Matches will be of 50 overs a side(One day limited over format) and Super League Stage Matches will be of 2 days (days format).
- League Stage –
- At League Stage every Team in a group/zone will play against each other on league basis.
- All the matches will be of 50 overs a side.
iii. The Top Team from each group will qualify for the Super League Stage.
- Along with the top team from every Zone a combined Rest of Zone Team formed from the performers of the rests team in that group / zone will also play in the Super League Stage. The Rest of Zone team will be selected on the basis of the performances in the league stage
matches and BCCI domestic tournament matches 2023-2024.
- The Rest of Zone Team will consist of 15 players only.
- DCA Teams having topped their group/ zone and have qualified for the Super League Stage
will also be allowed to have only15 players in their Team in Super League Stage selected on the basis of their performances / participations in League Stage Matches. No further changes in the list will be allowed in any circumstances.
vii. The performances in the League Stage Matches will be considered only for the selection in Rest of Zone Team.
viii. Altogether 16 Teams (8 Top Teams & 8 Rest of Zone Teams) will play in Super League Stage
- Super League Stage –
- All Super League Matches will be of 2 Days and will be played on Days Format.
- Each Team can Bat for a maximum of 90 overs in an inning.
iii. All 16 Teams will be divided into four groups of 4 Teams Each.
- Every Team in the group will play against each other.
- Top Two Teams from each group will qualify for Quarter Final knock-out stage. The winner of Quarter Finals will play Semi-Final and the winners of the Semi-Final Match will play the Final.
- Winner of the Final will be declared the Champion of the Tournament.
- Participation & Performance –
- It will be mandatory for every player to participate in the Tournament and only those players who participate will be considered for selection for the Camp for BCCI Domestic Tournament
2024-2025.
- Only those players who will be engaged in BCCI Assignments like Matches / NCA Camps / IPL will be exempted from participating in the Tournament Matches falling during that particular period. However, the concerned player will be required to prior inform the BCA and obtain permission for exemption.
iii. On the basis of the performances in the Super League Stage Matches as well as in BCCI Domestic Tournament Matches 2023-2024 A total of 52 players will be Short Listed for the Camps for BCCI Domestic Tournament Matches 2024-2025.
- The details of the composition of 50 player Short Listed will be following –
Batter — 23
Bowler – 26 [Spinners – (12 ) & Medium Pacers – (14)]

- The composition of players short listed may change subject to the availability of quality players in a particular category.
- Every District Cricket Associations can register a maximum of 20 players and a minimum of 15 players for the tournament and must submit the registration form in the prescribed proforma along with required documents at least 08 days prior to the commencement of the Tournament . Teams not submitting their Registration Form within time period may not be allowed to play. Registration of players will be done only once and no further addition or modification will be entertained in any condition.
