Patna, July 26: Ayush Raj in U-10 boys ‘category, Ankita Raj of DAV in U-10 girls’ category, Avyay Sharma in U-12 boys category, Ashika Nandini  in U-12 girls’ category, Shaurya Sinha in U-15 boys’ category, Adiva Ullah in U-15 girls’ category, Mayank Sharma in U-17 boys’ category and Kritika Ranjan in U-17 girls’ category were leading the table at the end of the second day’s play in the 4th Ashok Singh Memorial Inter- School Chess Championships at Lohia Nagar Mount Carmel High School, Kankarbagh here on Tuesday;

U-10 boys:  Ayush Raj (4) beat Arsh Sareen (3), Aarush Kumar (3.5) beat Yash Raj (2), Om Kashyap (3) beat  Milind Priyam (2), Harsh Govind (2.5) beat Shaurya Ranjan (1.5) Mihir Priyam (2.5) defeated Ronit Raj (1), Samyak Pathak (2) beat Akshat Ojha (1), Ankit Raj (1.5) beat Utsav Verma, Piyush Anand (2.5) and Priyanshu Raj (2.5) played a draw.

U-10 girls’ category:  Ankita Raj (4) beat Trisha Ranjan (3), Anveshika (3.5) beat Ananya (2), Srishti Deya (3.5) beat Mitra Vinda (2), Arshi (3) beat Vanshika (2), Ojasvi (3) defeated Saanvi (1.5) Sanvi Sinha (2) defeated Adhya Roy (1), Nimrit (2) defeated Soumya Anand (1).

U-12 boys’ category:  Avyay Sharma (4) defeated Akshat Raj (3), Ashish Kumar (3) beat  Aman Raj (3), Mohd. Under- 15 girls’ category: Adiba Ullah (4) defeated Muskan Ranjan (2), Aishwarya Shree (3) beat  Simran Raj (2), Mahi Sah (2) beat Priya Karini (1).

Under -17 boys’ category:  Mayank Sharma (3) defeated Karan Singh (1), Akshat Singh (2) defeated Satyanand Vidyasagar (0).

Under-17 girls’ category: Kritika Ranjan (3) defeated Alka Kumar (0), Swati Sheetal (2) defeated Jyotsna Kumari (1).

Rupak Kumar, sports head of Lohia Nagar Mount Carmel School said that the competition is being successfully conducted under the supervision of Senior national arbiter Rakesh Ranjan, Alok Priyadarshi, state arbiter Rajesh Ranjan, Sudhir Kumar Mishra, Rupesh Ranjan, BMP Verma and Aditi Arya. . Tomorrow,, the matches of the final round of the competition will be played. After the end of the last round, the prize- distribution function will be held at 1:00 pm.
