Patna: The three-day annual sports festival got off to a colourful start on the premises of Kusumraj Maniam Public School, Moriawan, Vikram (Patna) under the aegis of Dr Rajdev Sharma Memorial Trust.
Events like cricket, badminton, slow cycling, long jump, chess etc. were organised. The sports meet was inaugurated in the presence of school chairman Dr Amrendra Kumar, director Dayanand Sharma, principal Pankaj Kumar Mishra and all the teachers.
Four houses of the school (Shivaji House, Ashoka House, CV Raman House and Tagore House) participated in this annual sports festival. Shivaji House defeated Ashoka House in a cricket match. Amrit Kumar (30 runs) of Ashoka House was adjudged the man of the match.
Raunak Kumar of Tagore House defeated Tanvi Kumari of Shivaji House in the chess competition. Shivani Kumari of Ashoka House won the title defeating Gautam Gandhi of CV Raman House.
In badminton, CV Raman House defeated Tagore House and Ashoka House defeated Shivaji House.
Karan Kumar (Class VII) was the winner in slow cycling and long jump events. The winners of today’s events were honoured by the chairman Dr Amarendra Kumar with medals.
