Patna: Several exhilarating matches unfolded today in the BCA Men’s Senior One Day Trophy Tournament, organised by the Bihar Cricket Association (BCA). The day witnessed victories for Banka, Khagaria, Aurangabad, Katihar, Madhubani, and Siwan in their respective matches.
1. Muzaffarpur vs Madhubani (Janaki Stadium, Sitamarhi)
Madhubani won by 3 wickets.
Muzaffarpur batted first, posting a formidable total of 316 runs for 8 wickets in their allotted 50 overs. Kunal Kaushal Kishore starred with a century, scoring 119 runs off 135 balls, including 13 fours and five sixes. Shivam Sanjeev Kumar contributed 95 runs off 101 balls, while Bharat Basant Kumar added a quickfire 51 runs off 30 deliveries. In the bowling department, Captain Vishal Krishna Raj claimed 3 wickets for 72 runs, supported by Thakur Sunil Devashish and Naman Singh Parashar, who took 2 and 1 wicket respectively.
Madhubani chased down the target successfully, scoring 317 runs for 7 wickets in 49.1 overs. Vijay Kumar Mandal was the standout performer, smashing 123 runs off 147 balls, including 15 fours and a six. Utkarsh Pawan Bhaskar also played a crucial knock of 75 runs off 72 balls. For Muzaffarpur, Vikas Kumar Jha impressed with 5 wickets for 69 runs, while Captain Ayush Omkar Anand and Aditya Arun Raj chipped in with 2 and 1 wicket respectively.
2. Kishanganj vs Katihar (Vidya Vihar Cricket Ground, Purnia)
Katihar won by 5 wickets.
Kishanganj were bowled out for 159 runs in 42.1 overs after electing to bat first. Captain M.D. Tabrez Alam top-scored with 44 runs off 29 balls, including 6 sixes, while Mani Shankar Bhatt remained unbeaten on 39 runs. For Katihar, Inam Jameel was the pick of the bowlers, taking 3 wickets for 55 runs.
In reply, Katihar reached the target in just 27 overs, scoring 160 runs for 5 wickets. Khalid Alam led the charge with 43 runs off 39 balls, while Mayank Ramnani remained unbeaten on 40 runs. Khalid Alam also shone with the ball, claiming 3 wickets for 48 runs.
3. Lakhisarai vs Banka (Sandish Compound, Bhagalpur)
Banka won by 10 wickets.
Lakhisarai were dismissed for a paltry 103 runs in 27 overs. Srinivas Kumar top-scored with an unbeaten 27 runs, while Ravi Vinod Singh contributed 25 runs. Banka’s bowlers dominated, with M.D. Rashid Raja and Captain Himanshu Sudama Singh each taking 3 wickets.
Banka chased down the target in just 10.1 overs without losing a wicket. Vineet Chaudhary smashed an unbeaten 51 runs off 34 balls, while Puneet Yadav remained not out on 43 runs off 27 balls.
4. Bhojpur vs Aurangabad (Maharaja College, Ara)
Aurangabad won by 6 wickets.
Bhojpur posted 262 runs for 9 wickets in their 50 overs, thanks to Aniket Bashist Singh’s 62 runs and Hridaya Nand Singh’s 44 runs. Aurangabad chased down the target comfortably, scoring 265 runs for 4 wickets in 38.5 overs. Captain Harsh Raj Puru led the way with 82 runs, supported by Bipin Kumar Saurabh’s 57 runs and Ayush Sanjay Raj’s unbeaten 50.
5. Siwan vs West Champaran (JP Sinha Stadium, Vaishali)
Siwan won by 132 runs.
Siwan set a challenging total of 278 runs for 9 wickets in 50 overs, with Anubhav Kumar Srivastava scoring a brilliant century (100 runs off 109 balls). West Champaran struggled in their chase, managing only 146 runs for 9 wickets in 50 overs. Captain Himanshu Tiwari and Aurangzeb Sheikh Alam were the standout bowlers for Siwan, taking 3 wickets each.
6. Khagaria vs Supaul (HURL Ground Bihat, Begusarai)
Khagaria won by 179 runs.
Khagaria posted a mammoth total of 401 runs for 8 wickets in 50 overs, with wicketkeeper-batsman Harshit Yugal Anand scoring a magnificent 130 runs off 128 balls. Supaul were bowled out for 222 runs in 43.5 overs, with Raviraj Singh top-scoring with 52 runs. Sadiq Raza was the pick of the bowlers for Khagaria, taking 3 wickets for 83 runs.
