Akarsh, Ankita, Ishan and Manisha emerge kids chess champs

Patna: The three-day Bihar State Under-7 and Under-9 chess championship, organised by Mega Mind Chess Club under the aegis of All Bihar Chess Association, ended on Sunday. After the last round matches, the winners of different categories were announced. The title of under-7 boys category went to Akarsh Anand of Patna while the title of girls category went to Ankita Raj of Patna. In the under-9 boys’ category, Ishaan of Patna won the title while in the girls’ category, Manisha Yadav of Darbhanga won the title.

After three days of this mental grappling, the winners were awarded with trophies, medals and certificates. All Bihar Chess Association’s patron Ajit Kumar Singh and vice president Rajendra Singh gave away the prizes. Iqbal Alam, joint secretary of All Bihar Chess Association, conducted the prize distribution ceremony while chief arbiter Nandkishore read the competition report and announced the names of the winners.

On this occasion, many dignitaries including organizing secretary Vipal Subhashi, tournament director Shashinand Kumar, Himanshu Kumar, Himanshu Harsh, Rahul Kumar were present.
