Pune: UP Yoddhas, the GMR owned franchisee representing the state of Uttar Pradesh, wrapped up match number 66 of Season Nine of the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) with a thrilling 41-41 tie against Bengal Warriors at the Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex, here in Balewadi. UP Yoddhas who started on an impressive note maintained their lead in the game till the last five minutes of the match but thereafter, due to some unforced errors lost their dominance in the game to finish in a thrilling tie. For UP Yoddhas Rohit Tomar gave the performance of the night collecting 16 raid points along with Captain Pardeep Narwal who earned 11 points. UP Yoddhas are now placed 10th on the league standings with 30 points to their kitty.
They now play Haryana Steelers on November 11 and the match will broadcast LIVE on Star Sports Network and can be streamed LIVE on Disney Hotstar from 07:30 p.m. (IST) onwards.
The game began with UP Yoddhas winning the toss and putting Bengal Warriors to raid first. UP Yoddhas meant business from the start as they struck first blood through a superb tackle on Maninder Singh. Thereafter UP Yoddhas collected three consecutive points on both attack and defense as the scorecard read 4-0 to their favour early on in the game. UP Yoddhas were on fire, creating havoc for Bengal Warriors and enforcing the first All Out on them early in the fifth minute of the game with the scoreboard read 9-3 to their favour. Thereafter Pardeep Narwal showcased why he is considered the king of kabaddi as he helped UP Yoddhas race ahead with his multi-point raids with support from the defenders UP Yoddhas enforced a second All Out on Bengal Warriors with eight minutes to go in the half. The scoreboard at this point read 20-7 to the favour of UP Yoddhas. Bengal Warriors hereon made an impressive attempt to make a comeback through back-to-back points however were unable to make a lot of difference as the half came to an end with the scoreboard reading 25-15 to UP Yoddhas favour.
The second half began with UP Yoddhas young raider Rohit Tomar single handedly saving their first All-Out on six occasions with some fantastic raiding before finally succumbing to Bengal Warriors with the scoreboard reading 30-21 still to UP Yoddhas favour. The game thereafter saw Bengal Warriors slowly making a comeback as they started reducing their deficit inflicting a second All-Out on UP Yoddhas with the scoreboard reading 34-33 still favouring UP Yoddhas. However, after this both the teams played with all their might hoping for a win but UP Yoddhas Captain Pardeep Narwal and Rohit Tomar starred tonight with their multi-point raids enabling a thrilling 41-41 tie with Bengal Warriors.
