Patna: Former Bihar Chief Minister and RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav’s health suddenly deteriorated again on Tuesday night. Considering his condition, he was taken to Delhi today for further treatment.
He left for Delhi from Patna on Wednesday morning. His younger son and Bihar’s Leader of Opposition, Tejashwi Yadav, was present at Patna airport to see him off. During this time, Lalu Yadav’s hand was seen bandaged, indicating that he is facing some health issues.
Condition Worsened Due to Increased Blood Sugar
Lalu Prasad Yadav has been suffering from multiple serious ailments for the past few years. At present, a sudden spike in his blood sugar levels has led to his deteriorating health. Initially, doctors started his treatment in Patna, but there was no significant improvement over the last two days. Observing his worsening condition, doctors advised that he be shifted to Delhi for specialised treatment. Following this recommendation, he was sent to Delhi on Wednesday morning.
Lalu Yadav’s Prolonged Health Struggles
Lalu Yadav has been battling various health issues for a long time and undergoes regular check-ups in Delhi. In 2022, he underwent a kidney transplant in Singapore, with his younger daughter, Rohini Acharya, donating a kidney to him. Although the operation was successful, his health has not fully stabilised since then.
Angioplasty Performed in Mumbai
In September 2024, Lalu Prasad Yadav underwent an angioplasty procedure in Mumbai. Prior to this, he had also undergone open-heart surgery in 2014. Apart from these major procedures, he has been dealing with various other health complications and remains under regular medical supervision.
Concern Among Family and Party Workers
As soon as news of Lalu Yadav’s deteriorating health emerged, concerns grew among his supporters and party workers. Senior RJD leaders and workers are closely monitoring updates on his condition. His son, Tejashwi Yadav, is also actively overseeing his medical care.
Specialist Treatment in Delhi
Lalu Yadav will now be treated under the supervision of specialist doctors in Delhi. While no major concerns have been raised about his health yet, doctors emphasise the need to stabilise his blood sugar levels. A prominent figure in Bihar politics, Lalu Prasad Yadav’s health remains a matter of public attention, with his supporters praying for his swift recovery.
