7-wicket win for Basawan Park CA in Randhir Verma U-17 Cricket

Patna: Basawan Park Cricket Academy defeated Lakshya Cricket Academy by seven wickets in the opening match of the Randhir Verma U-17 Cricket Championship at Sanjay Gandhi Stadium here on Friday.

The tournament is being organsied by Randhir Verma Foundation to commemorate the birth anniversary of martyred Bihar police officer Randhir Verma.

Batting first after winning the toss, Lakshya Cricket Academy scored 89 runs in 20.3 overs, losing 9 wickets, Kundan scored 18 runs with a four and a six, Saurabh made 15 runs three fours and Chhotu scored 11 runs.

For Basawan Park Cricket Academy, Aarav took four wickets by giving 18 runs, Adarsh Kumar took three wickets by giving 19 runs and Prateek Sinha and Ayush Patel took one wicket each.

In reply, Basawan Park Cricket Academy achieved the target losing three wickets. Yash Pratap scored 28 runs with the help of four fours, Ayush Singh scored 29 runs with the help of 3 fours and two sixes. Ayush Patel made an important contribution of 19 runs with the help of two fours and a six. For Lakshya Cricket Academy, Manav, Priyanshu took one wicket each. Aarav of the winning team were awarded the man of the match award.

Earlier, former Bihar sports minister Alok Ranjan Jha inaugurated the tournament. He was also introduced to the players.

The program was presided over by the foundation’s president, Devendra Kumar Lal. Staged was managed by Anand Sinha. Foundation Secretary Satish Raju welcomed the guests and Santosh Tiwari proposed a vote of thanks.
