Patna, July 22: The seven newly elected members of the Bihar Legislative Council took oath on Friday in presence of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. Chairperson of Bihar Legislative Council Awadhesh Narayan Singh administered the oath of office and secrecy to them.
The swearing-in function began at 4.35 pm and in 16 minutes all the seven members were sworn in. First of all, BJP’s Anil Sharma took oath, followed by Afaq Ahmed Khan, Ashok Kumar Pandey, Munni Devi, Ravindra Prasad Singh, Qari Sohaib and Hari Sahni were administered the oath. Qari Sohaib took oath in Urdu while Hari Sahni took oath in Maithili. After the swearing-in, the chairman called all the newly elected members to the stage and had a group photograph with them.
Later, all the newly elected members were given a letter related to the work of the Bihar Legislative Council, diary, housing allotment letter, as well as a letter related to the nomination in the committee of the Legislative Council. Deputy Chief Minister Tarkishore Prasad and Renu Devi, Bihar Assembly Speaker Vijay Kumar Sinha, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary, Health Minister Mangal Pandey, Rural Development Minister Shravan Kumar, Planning and Development and Energy Minister Bijendra Prasad Yadav and Panchayati Raj Minister Samrat Choudhary were present at the swearing-in ceremony. Transport Minister Sheela Kumari and Deputy Leader of the ruling party
