24 college students from Mizoram in Patna under Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat

Patna: A team of 24 college students and 3 faculty members from Mizoram arrived Patna on a 5 days Bihar visit under student exchange programme of Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat.

To celebrate the cultural diversity among states and union territories, under Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat, a student exchange programme has been conceived among paired states. Under AKAM – Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat (EBSB) programme undertaken by AICTE, Ministry of Education, Government of India, and Bihar has been paired with the states of Mizoram and Tripura.

As a part of this programme a team from Mizoram comprising of 24 College students and 3 Faculty members is on a visit to Bihar from 12th to 16th September, 2022. Patna Women’s College (Autonomous) is nominated as the Nodal Institution for this programme in Bihar.  In the opening session, held in Patna women’s college on September 12, 2022, Dr. Sister M. Rashmi A.C., Principal, Patna Women’s College stated that India is a land of unity in diversity and the EBSB programme is aimed towards assimilation of cultural attributes among the youths. The areas of students exchange during the five-day programme include Historical heritage, sports for unity, partaking in local cuisines, urban development, village life, memory making and exchange of art forms

The programme has been conducted under guidance of Mr. Alok John, Dean, National, International Collaborations & Consultancy Services (NICCS), and the Nodal Officer AKAM – EBSB and the EBSB Core Committee of Patna Women’s College

The “Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat (EBSB)” programme, an idea of a continuous and planned cultural linkage between citizens of different regions, was suggested by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi during the Rashtriya Ekta Divas held on October 31, 2015, to memorialise the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. This program was propounded by Hon’ble Prime Minister to celebrate the cultural diversity through mutual interaction and reciprocity between people of different states and union territories so that a common spirit of understanding resonates throughout the country.
