Bhagalpur, May 5: Under the auspices of Bihar Cricket Association, a two-day match started between Purnia and Gopalganj under Pool 4 of Super League of Randhir Verma Under-19 Cricket Tournament on Sunday at the local Sandys Compound, hosted by Bhagalpur District Cricket Association.
On the first day, Gopalganj scored 109 runs in their first innings. Purnia scored 204 runs after losing all the wickets in its first innings. Gopalganj lost their first wicket in the second innings for 4 runs. Altogther 21 wickets fell on the first day.
Purnia won the toss and invited Gopalganj to bat. Batting first, Gopalganj were all out for 109 runs in 28.3 overs in thei first innings. Sujay Kumar contributed 36 runs, Nitish Kumar contributed 31 runs and Vishal Yadav contributed 16 runs. For Purnia, Aamir took 5 wickets, Rishi took 3 wickets and Mohammad Sajid took two wickets.
Purnia scored 204 runs in 55.5 overs in their first innings. For Purnia, Sumit Pal scored 47 runs, Anuj scored 44 runs and Rishi scored 44 runs. For Gopalganj, Shubham Pandey took four wickets and Mehndi Abdullah took four wickets.
At end of the first day’s play in its second innings, the Gopalganj team had scored only four runs after losing one wicket in 5 overs.
