Patna: Sixteen teams have been allowed to take part in the 37th Sukhdeo Narain Inter School Cricket Tournament for Patna zone to be held at the Urja Stadium here from March 27.
It may be mentioned here that many legendary cricketers including Sunil Gavaskar, Kapil Dev, Rahul Dravid, Anil Kumble, Virender Sehwag, Mohindra Amarnath, Vishan Singh Bedi, Mohammad Azharuddin, Vinod Kambli and Ajay Jadeja have praised this tournament which provides ideal platform to school cricketers to prove their mettle.
Forms were issued to 24 teams for the 37th edition of the tournament but the scrutiny committee has decided to give chance to only 16 teams after a lot of intense discussion. The committee decided to give priority to conduct all the matches on turf wickets so that the players can prepare themselves for the big match by showcasing their talent on turf wickets.
