Yogi govt set to equip autonomous state medical colleges of Uttar Pradesh

Lucknow: The Yogi government’s efforts to transform Uttar Pradesh into a hub for quality healthcare services have started yielding positive results. The hospitals are being equipped with state-of-the-art equipment and amenities.

Under the leadership of CM Yogi, implementation of a comprehensive action plan, devised to enhance government hospitals and elevate healthcare services across the state is in progress.

In alignment with this plan, the initiative to furnish autonomous state medical colleges in Uttar Pradesh with cutting-edge medical equipment has been initiated.

The revitalization of autonomous state medical colleges in 14 districts, including Bijnor, Kushinagar, Sultanpur, Gonda, Lalitpur, Lakhimpur Kheri, Chandauli, Sonbhadra, Bulandshahr, Pilibhit, Auraiya, Kanpur Dehat, and Amethi, is in progress. A sum of Rs 2.34 billion has been allocated for this purpose, facilitating the procurement of 26 machines, equipment, and facilities in these autonomous state medical colleges.

The Director General of the Medical Education and Training Department has been entrusted with the responsibility of overseeing and ensuring the completion of the procurement process in accordance with the regulations set by the Uttar Pradesh Government.

Rs 16.55 crore will be spent on the rejuvenation of each autonomous state medical college

According to the vision of CM Yogi, in the detailed action plan prepared for upgradation of government hospitals to improve health services in Uttar Pradesh, emphasis was laid on equipping the autonomous state medical colleges with state-of-the-art medical equipment. A total of Rs 16.55 crore will be spent on the rejuvenation of each autonomous state medical college in 14 districts.

Repairing of buildings continues in many government hospitals of the state

The decoration and repairing of several government colleges across the state is currently underway. Among them is King George’s Medical College in Lucknow, where the convention center is undergoing renovation, including repairs to the wooden stage flooring and painting of the building.

Concurrently, various tasks, such as hall maintenance, are being carried out in different government colleges. Additionally, efforts are in progress to enhance the medical gas supply system at Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital. There is a focus on reinforcing the emergency power supply panel in the institute’s main building.

Supply process of Ayurvedic medicines also continues in the state

The process of supply of all medicines, including Ayurvedic and Unani medication, is actively progressing in Uttar Pradesh. As part of this effort, the procurement process for all Unani medicines, encompassing both scripture-based and manufactured varieties, is underway in government Ayurvedic colleges across the state.

The Ayurvedic medicines for which the procurement process is underway include many special types of medicinal oils, extracts, vati (tablets), juices, powders and ashes.

This ongoing medicine procurement process will ensure distribution of Ayurvedic medicines on a large scale mainly in Jhansi, Basti, Mirzapur and Bareilly, which will pave the way for the treatment of many diseases.
