Patna: Two football clubs of Yarpur registered impressive victories in the Rekha Devi Memorial Patna District Junior Division Football League at Sanjay Gandhi Stadium here on Friday. In the first match, Junior New Yarpur FC beat Rainbow FA 2-0 while New Yarpur beat Nathan International School 7-0.
In first match, the players of both the teams tried hard to score goals in the first half but could not succeed. After the lemon break, both the teams came on the field with a new strategy and started making moves. Junior New Yarpur’s Ravi Shah scored a goal in the 47th minute to take his side to a lead.
After 11 minutes, Avinash Kumar scored the second and final goal of his team. Rainbow FA players tried to equalise but failed. Referee Mohan Kumar showed red cards to Ravi Shah of Junior New Yarpur and Rituraj of Rainbow FA. Player of the match award was given to Junior Dheeraj Kumar of New Yarpur by footballer Kalika Singh.
In the second match, New Yarpur players completely dominated the match scoring a total of seven goals. Viru Kumar (1st, 4th and 25th minute) scored three goals. Munna (8th and 45th minutes) scored two goals while Ishu Kumar (17th) and Praveen Kumar (19th) scored one goal each.
Viru Kumar of New Yarpur FC was adjudged player of the match. Former Ranji player Nikhilesh Ranjan gave away the award.
