Patna: Thanks to the brilliant performances of Yuvraj (57 runs) and Abhishek (four wickets), Bihar team has strengthened its position on the first day in the Vijay Merchant Under-16 Cricket Tournament against Baroda at Veerangan Cricket Academy ground in Pune on Wednesday. On the basis of the first innings, Bihar is still ahead by 137 runs.
After winning the toss, Baroda invited Bihar to bat. In the first innings, Bihar team was all out after scoring 212 runs in 62.1 overs. For Bihar, Yuvraj scored 57 runs, Ganesh Chauhan scored 43 runs, Dhananjay Kumar Singh scored 34 runs, Swetabh scored 28 runs, Adarsh Sinha and Mohit Kumar were out after scoring 14 runs each, Prince Kumar scored 7 runs and Irfan Alam was out after scoring one run. For Baroda, Harsh and Kavir took three wickets each, and Dhruwal, Vivek and Nilay took one wicket each.
At the end of the first day of play, Baroda team has scored 75 runs with six wickets. Mahimna, Aditya were out without opening the account, while Nilay Patel was out after scoring 18 runs, Dhruwal made 4 runs, Priyanshu scored 1 run and Rao Khush was out after scoring 17 runs, while Yug was unbeaten on 31 runs. For Bihar, Abhishek took 4 wickets for 19 runs and Shant took 1 wicket for 14 runs.
