Patna: Bihar were reeling at 76 for the loss of three wickets in their second innings, still 260 runs away to avoid innings defeat, on the second day of their Vijay Merchant Trophy match against Hyderabad at GSFC Ground in Vadodara on Monday. Bihar could manage to score 208 runs all out in their first innings after Hyderabad declared their first 544 for the loss of three wickets. In the second innings, Bihar were struggling at 76 for the loss of three wickets.
Resuming the innings at 536 for 3, Hyderabad declared their first innings at 544 for three as soon as opener Aaron George completed his triple century. Aaron remained not out on 303.
Bihar had disastrous start in their first innings losing two quick wickets for 24 runs. Thereafter, Bihar batsmen never looked comfortable against Hyderabad attack and lost wickets at regular intervals. Wicketkeeper Taufique was to only batsman from Bihar who defied the Hyderabad attack with great élan and comfort. He slammed a century (129) off 161 balls with 24 boundaries.
Forced to follow on, Bihar again lost two wickets for just 19 runs on the board. Bihar lost their third wicket for 63 runs. At the end of the day’s play Yash Pratap was unbeaten on 20 and Taufique on 12.
