UP Yoddhas go down to Telugu Titans in their reverse fixture

Hyderabad: UP Yoddhas, the franchisee owned by GMR Group went down 32-49 to Telugu Titans tonight in match number 81 of the Pro Kabaddi League Season 10, played at Gachibowli Indoor Stadium, Hyderabad. Yoddhas went in the game in search of their fourth win of the ongoing season but had to face a significant margin of defeat in their reverse fixture against the home side. Despite the team’s loss, the UP Yoddhas’ captain achieved a remarkable feat by securing his 85th Super 10 in the Pro Kabaddi League during tonight’s match. Gagan Gowda emerged as the second-highest scorer for the Yoddhas, accumulating seven points. With three victories and 23 points to their kitty, UP Yoddhas are placed eleventh in the points table.

UP Yoddhas will now face Dabang Delhi KC on 27th January 2024 at Patna. The match between UP Yoddhas and Dabang Delhi KC will be telecast LIVE on Star Sports Network and can be streamed LIVE on Disney Hotstar from 09:00 p.m. (IST) onwards.

After losing the toss, the UP Yoddhas were invited to raid first. The Dubki King and Captain Pardeep Narwal set the tone by opening the scorecard with the very first raid, and Narwal continued his momentum by executing another successful raid, eliminating two defenders this time. Meanwhile, the Telugu Titans were swiftly accumulating points. The UP Yoddhas found themselves on the brink of facing an All-Out but were saved by their defenders, who pinned down the Indian Kabaddi team captain, Pawan Sehrawat, executing a Super Tackle and by seventh minute of the game, the scorecard reflected an 8-10 in favor of the Telugu Titans. However, some unforced errors resulted in the Yoddhas not only experiencing the first All-Out of the game but also trailing by six points. With just five minutes remaining in the first half, Omkar Patil of the Titans executed a multi-point raid, pinning down four Yoddhas and propelling his team into a significant lead. The Yoddhas found themselves in a challenging situation as the first half concluded, with the scorecard reading 15-24 in favor of their opponents.

The second half began on a slow note as Yoddhas had to face another All-out in the game. Consecutive unforced errors by the Yoddhas proved costly, while the Titans capitalized on opportunities without hesitation, surging ahead in the match. Instances like Gagan Gowda’s two-point raid were needed more frequently for the Yoddhas, but the Titans resisted, inflicting a third All-Out on them. The scorecard reflected a commanding 21-39 lead in favor of the Titans. The game concluded with the Yoddhas falling short, losing 32-49 against the Telugu Titans, who secured their second victory of the season.
