Tamil Nadu in command against Bihar in Cooch Behar Trophy

Patna: 17 wickets fell on the first day of the Cooch Behar Trophy match between Bihar and Tamil Nadu being played at the Moinul Haq Stadium in Patna. Bihar won the toss and batted first. Bihar were all out for 74 runs in 34.1 overs, while at the end of the first day’s play, Tamil Nadu were 178 runs for seven wickets. With this, Tamil Nadu got a lead of 104 runs in the first innings.

Bihar’s batting was very poor in the first innings. Vaibhav was out after scoring 19 runs, Alam failed to open his account; and Animesh scored 12 runs. Among the remaining players, except Anup, no player could reach double figures. For Tamil Nadu, R Praveen took 5 wickets, P Vignesh and Karthik Manikandan took 2 wickets each. B Sachin took one wicket.

In reply, Tamil Nadu team had scored 178 runs for seven wickets at the end of the first day’s play, thanks to Andre Siddharth’s unbeaten 86 runs. Tamil Nadu’s Abhinav Kannan was out after scoring 4 runs, Madhava Prasad scored 35 runs and Akshay scored 31 runs. For Bihar, Anup Kumar took 4 wickets and Satyam Kumar took 3 wickets.
