Patna: A two-day RSA (Rajesh-Shailendra-Alok) Memorial Kabaddi Tournament will be organised at Patliputra Sports Complex from Saturday. Milita Anand, wife of late senior sports journalist Rajesh Kumar, will inaugurate the tournament.
In the first match of the tournament, the host Patna team will face Gaya. The trophy of this tournament was unveiled on Friday. The trophy was unveiled at the office of the Bihar Kabaddi Association jointly by Sanjay Kumar, Deputy Director of the Student Directorate of Art, Culture and Youth Department, Kumar Vijay, Secretary of the Bihar State Kabaddi Association, Senior Urologist Dr Kumar Rajesh Ranjan, Bihar Boxing Association Secretary Rajeev Kumar, BJP Sports Cell’s convenor Satish Kumar Raju and cricketer Sumit Sharma. Secretary of Bihar Softball Association Dharamveer Kumar and others were present on the occasion.
The final match of the tournament will be broadcast on DD Bihar. The highlights of this match will be telecast in the Khel Jagat program of Doordarshan Bihar.
Patna Pirates, the three-time champions of the Pro Kabaddi League, will unearth the talented players from Bihar during the two-day tournament. The coach of Patna Pirates will be present during all the matches. Selected players will get a chance to train free of cost at the training camp of Patna Pirates. First aid will be provided by the Satyadev Super Specialty Hospital for any kind of injury to the players during the matches.
